I am looking at getting a new Soundsmith SMMC20CL+ but want it to be silver to match the arm of my Beogram 4000. The bodies are made in plastic which is black. I have discussed this briefly with Soundsmith who have thought of nickel plating it. Anyone have any other ideas? Needs to be preferably a finish which can look like brushed aluminium and be reasonably tough as the cartridge will need assembling inside it. If we come up with a good solution, maybe they will release a limited Beoworld edition ! The body of the cartridge is actually gold plated metal which protrudes at the bottom.
