Thanks Corvin & jk. I agree the BC2 is fantastic, but I'm WAY over budget on this system. I'm more in the area of a non-B&O dvd player-- at least for now. Several Panasonic, Denon, Samsung and Sony dvd players are supported-- I'm curious if anyone has a particular model they have been very happy with. Thanks~~~

I would do BC2 as well, because I like the design and it should do just fine for DVD watching. Unless you are planning to buy blueray movies I would not yet buy a player, there should be plenty of improvements coming in future models. Would be a cheaper option though.

Are there any other non B&O DVD players that the BS3 supports?

Have you considered the Beocenter 2 as your DVD player. I am using this with the Beosystem 3 and it is fantastic.

You also do not require an upscaling DVD player if you are going through the BS3 as it will do all the upscalling for you.

Thanks in advance to all of you who have posted suggestions to my prior posts seeking advice for my home theater set-up.

Two remaining decisions: DVD player and rears.

Kit will be BV 4-50 TV, BS3, BL7-2 center, BL6000's fronts.

Question on rears: Can a pair of BL4's do the job or should I get a pair of BL4000's? Rears will be ceiling mounted, about 11.5 feet high (3.5 meters) and about 6-9 feet (1.8-2.7meters) behind the main viewing seats.

Suggestions for DVD player: What players are any of you using with a BeoSystem 3? I've been considering a Samsung BD-P1200 blu-ray, which I am told works perfectly with the system and Beo4 remote. Is a blu-ray dvd player overkill for the 720p TV? Would I be better off with just an upscaling DVD player? I would prefer a player that integrates with the Beo4 remote-- which is why I'm not considering the PlayStation 3.
