I have a Corsa, and I can tell you, you've no chance mate!!
I bought my Avant 32" from near Luton, 200 miles away. Rented a Transit for £40 and kept it right way up. No probs.

Wise move. We don't want to see a distraught member asking about options to repair a faulty Avant RF.

Get a man with a van from the local paper and the two of you can move it together. £25 well spent.

Thanks guys for the advice - it's a 32" RF VCR - I think though I'm going to play safe and have a little patience and get someone with a van to move it - it's not far but having waited so long a couple more days isn't going to make much difference.

I have moved several in the lying down position and have had no problems. HOWEVER, B&O obviously designed it to be transported standing up.

Let's be practical here. If it is a cheap curved screen then I would chance it lying down every time. If it is a 32RF DVD then I would probably hire a van!

I gather that as you said modern that the car is a Corsa as this is more modern than the Nova. My 28" fitted in both a Fiat Punto and a Ford Escort. I do not think you will have any problems putting it in the car but it appears to be a gamble. I have taken it twice and my TV seems to be working fine [crosses fingers]. Somebody else took it once and apparently B&O said this was the reason why it broke. Other people who have worked in the TV industry seem to think it shouldn't be a problem.

Whatever you decide - good luck, I did it on Saturday and by God it was heavy - hope you have not got any stairs to go down!

Generally speaking it is not a good policy to put any tube on its face even with padding

I think the general conclusion was that you can lay it down but it is at a risk. Avants are meant to be moved upright but it's not always practical to do so. One person's tube has failed though whether this was because he laid it down or was just unlucky who knows? Others have had no problems.

I guess if you can move it upright then every effort should be made to do so. If you have no other choice then keep fingers crossed!

As to whether it would fit in a Corsa I couldn't say. Take measurements first either from the item of from the products page on BW and go from there. It's a big beastie but a lovely one.

Hi there - I've just bought an Avant 32" - does anyone know if it will fit face down with loads of padding etc. into a Vauxhall Nova/Corsa - not sure which one it is - it's a small modern hatchback?, thought it better to ask before I try!
