Actually I think the BMW's are superior from a technological point of view. I have never owned anything else and had a trouble free experience all my life. Audi's have superior design, but are not that nice to drive as they have too much weight on the front axle. That spoils the entire ride. Fortunately Audi has finally seen the light and moved the front axle more to the front of the car. I will drive the new A4 and A5 soon and I'm confident that they are very good. Merc is far behind. Jürgen Scrempp's leadership has ruined the brand.

Sorry Flappo but I just cannot agree.

I've owned BMW's, Merc's & Audi's for as long as I've been driving and the Audis have always been the best of the lot. Currently got a BMW and it is certainly trying - very trying

i honestly don't see the point of audi , they remind me of dell or smeg

a half hearted attempt at the real deal

personally i'd rather have a bmw than an audi as at least they're 'trying'

audi's seem to be for people who not only don't try as much have given up , they're BORING

they have NO prestige , no matter how hard VW try

and sucking up to a quality brand like bno is quite pathetic

except aston were owned by ford - and all 3 of their 'supercars' look basically identical apart from some tiny detailing

I wouldn't buy a Merc today. For 5 glorious years in my youth, I had the best they ever made - a metallic blue 1970 300SEL 6.3, bought second-hand from a Saudi Consular officer. Then, it was billed as the fastest production car in the world. With handling to match!

I broke many a traffic rule (and never got caught!!!!!), and I loved that beast.

I had to sell it when it just got too expensive to maintain.

Mercedes does not build soul-cars any more today, but then I'm not sure that anyone does (except for maybe Aston - and maybe that's why B&O has identified them as possible partners)??.

Actually I think that recent Mercs are better build than the ones of the late 90's. I drove a new C class earlier this year and it wasn't bad. Although you can only really tell how could it is when you've owned a car for a longer period. And I won't be able to tell you, because I will never buy a Merc and here's why.

My dad bought two new Mercs in 1995 and in 1997 and they were badly build. He had problems with paint, rattles, aircons and electronics. The problems were never satisfactory solved by the dealership. You'd expect better from a ''premium'' brand. The current E class before mid life upgrade / facelift was also an appalling car. A friend of mine had one and experienced problems with electronics and had several complete brake failures...

I think this proves that Mercedes doesn't ''deserve'' B&O...

well in my very informed opinion they do deserve to have B&O as I have both a Mercedes & an Audi & by far the better vehicle is the Audi, personally i think the merc is very badly built and no where near where they think they are.

does anyone of you have seen the new AUDI A4 ? It can be equipped with a complete B&O sound system for only 985,- €. The prize is redicules low compared to other systems in different cars and from different manufacturers. I.e. for the VW Golf 5 the most simple radio is about 450,- €.
Is B&O going crazy now ? What do you think ?

In Holland, where I live, it will cost € 1.560. Still not bad value, but cars and car accessories are so cheap in Germany.
