1. Except for a couple of prototypes, it is a US system and uses NTSC.

2. It disables the two way communication with the BL7000 so you will need to use a Beolink 1000.

3. Dolby Pro-Logic only.

Two-way actually works in Beosystem 7000 with software 1.3 in the Beomaster 7000. The NTSC part is not needed for surround processing.

Unfortunately the system will work so that all of the speakers need to be connected to the AV7000. The BM7000 connects via a PowerLink and DataLink cable, but its amplifier is not utilized. The AV7000 has a built-in amplifier for the center channel only...

I was hoping to be able to use the amplifier of the beomaster 7000 to power the front speakers via the AV 7000, and then the centre and rear speakers to be powered by the av7000.

All I am lookin for is a method of adding a simple suround sound system to my beosystem 7000 as it would be a shame to get rid of such a wonderful audio system.

No other controls will be required, I do have a beolink 1000 that should be able to control the complete audio system.

Have I misunderstood what the AV7000 can do?

The AV7000 is Powerlink for the front and rear speakers so you will need at least a BeoLink Passive to power the BeoVox 5000. I've never heard of BeoVox 2500, what are those? I assume you are interested in Video sources for surround sound?

Hi, I finally won an AV7000 on ebay.

I am hoping that I will be able to connect my beomaster 7000 to the unit so that I can keep my existing system and add suround sound to it.

I plan on using my beovox 5000 / beovox 2500 as the front speakers (hopefully I won't need active units?), and now need to find some units for the rears and centre.

As the av7000 will probably come without a manual, can you please let me know how I will need to hook up everything?

Since I only have the beolink 1000 anyways thsi will not be a probllem.

At the moment I have no suround system at all, so when you say Pro-Logic only is this really an issue?

Why is NTSC an issue, there will only be an audio signal going to the unit?

When I lsiten to music only, will there be any loss of sound quality in stereo mode compared to using the BM 7000 only?

Whoa everyone!!

The AV-7000 is not exchanged for the BeoMaster...It is added into the system alongside the BeoMaster. All of the speakers are then connected to the AV-7000, the AV devices (V. Tape, CDV, SAT/STB) are connected to the AV-7000, but all of the audio devices remain connected to the BeoMaster, similar to the manner in which an MX and a BeoMaster 5500 would be connected, or in deed a BeoSystem 1, 2, or 3.

Henry, you have to keep the BM-5500.

I have a beosystem 7000 and would like to somehow add surround to it and at the ssme time keep the look of the system.

I have a chance to buy an AV7000; can I someohow ty this in to my existing system?

Holdon everyone -- if the question is whether you can replace a BeoMaster of any kind with an AV7000, the answer is no: the AV7000 is not an audio master and has no connections for extra audio equipment such as the CD, Tape and Phono. It may look similar to a BeoMaster 7000, but it's really not!

Agreed AV7000 and BM7000 are two completely different things.

BM7000 is a receiver intended for audio and includes a tuner as well as connections for external audio sources such as CD, Tape, and AUX.

AV7000 is a relatively simple surround sound processor with some AV connections. For example, it has an amp for center channel active speakers need not apply), PL connections for rear channels, and inputs/switching for some video sources. It also had a very limited ability to convert BL1000 commands to standard IR to allow control of video sources and power on TV.

AV7000 was a US only product and has been off the market for many years now. In some way it could described as an early ancestor of the current BeoSystem 3.

No problem with CD and TAPE,

The Beogram 5500 has no built/in RIAA amplifier.

Thanks but I am a little confused. Is the conclusion that I can not use a A/V 7000 together with Beogram 5500? What is the problem actually. Is the same problem present for the CD and tape recorder from the 5500 series? Is the conclusion that I should not use A/V 7000 with 5500 components.
