No, we never got the LC2 in the US. We only got the LC1. I'll be putting mine up for sale soon. Don't use it any more as Lintronic with X10 does all I need and more.

Well this is all news to me! Thanks for starting this post because I wanted to buy an LC2 but was told it does not work at all with energy saving light bulbs which is what is used in my light. Guess I am on the look out for one again!

If you choose not to buy any B&O well, then someone else will simply get it, the aluminium will still be produced and you'll miss out!

Every little bit counts, and everyone using energy saving bulbs is a small step, but it is still a step. It's all about everyones attitude to using less energy. Otherwise if everyone was as skeptical as that, then we would be churning out even more carbon emissions wouldn't we.

There are other reasons for using energy saving bulbs. They don't emit as much heat as regular bulbs. This is very important if you live in the tropics.

As for economy, I'd have thought there's a fairly reasonable thought that if you can afford a £10k stereo, you can afford a bit more electricity. It's an argument for the tight-fisted

If, however, you want them to save the environment, then I must admit that I think you're completely deluding yourself. Firstly, I would advse anyone to search on the net for 'global warming lies' or the like, to therefore read both sides of the argument, and to make up their own minds about it. Even if you do believe in man-made global warming, there's far better ways to trim CO2 emissions than to save 40W on a lightbulb.

Did you know that to produce 1 tonne of aluminium (the B&O material of choice) it takes half a tonne of carbon anode plus around 10 tonnes of CO2 generated electricity, plus quite a few more to fabricate a component and ship it? If you take the price of $30 per tonne of CO2, as the next set of emissions certificates are likely to cost in the EU, then you're probably far better off never buying B&O ever again than switching to energy saving lighbulbs.

Plus they look terrible

Only a few types of energy saving bulbs will work.

OSRAM have just released an energy saving bulb that can be dimmed. Check the net for that.

If you alter the settings for LC2 to switch just on and off the energy saver will work. You can now but dimmerable ones and they work perfectly

Just tried using my LC2 with an enargy saving light bulb. In the manual it does say this is possible, but you cannot dim the bulb. Well I get nothing at all. Not even the basic On/Off function. Any idea what the problem could be.
