No, I think the first two digits indicate the year of manufacture of main products only. It doesn't seem to apply for accessories and I'm sure the system is not counting screws!

It would be interesting to know the rule if there is one.

yes but i Think 2007 goes from 19-21 so thats an increase, but cut just be that every little screw has a SE number now.

The first two digits of the serial number indicate the date of manufacture thus

09 - 1994

10 - 1995

11 - 1996

12 - 1997

13 - 1998/99

14 - 2000

15 - 2001

16 - 2002

17 - 2003/04

18 - 2004/05

19 - 2006/07->

The first 28" Avants were made in 1994 with the 32" arriving in 1997. The Roman numerals are not when the set is made! They refer to when the original design was introduced. (I think!) There is sometimes a blue label with the month and year of manufacture on it but this probably does not hold for the older models. For information regarding products, the Product pages on this site are often useful as is Beocentral.

I have a 28" widescreen Avant with a VHS which I thought was made in 1994 hence the roman numerals on the back. However, I looked on the product catologue on this site and unless I am not looking properly there is no reference to the Avant until late ninieties, early 2000s Thus how do I figure out how old mine is.

PS I am also asuming that it is from 94 because nobody has corrected me on here before.
