I spent about 1/2 a day doing the same to a Beolit 609 that I bought non-working from a charity shop. The tuning wheel span freely, so I thought all it needed was a new cord. After many hours I had cracked it and had the new cord in place, only to realise that the whole set was knackered. In the end I sent it to Tim Jarman who fixed the electronics (and infomed me that I'd hooked the cord up the wrong way around anyway!)

Never again!

Re: New survey!!

Threading a new tuning drive cord on a 1972 model beolit 700

Took me hours the first (and definately last) time.

Chris.

Re: New survey!!

cozza:

The doors on a Beocenter 9500 are easy to take apart... and rather difficult to reassemble!

Agreed!!!

Re: New survey!!

The doors on a Beocenter 9500 are easy to take apart... and rather difficult to reassemble!

Re: New survey!!

The most unfriendly would be the BeoCom 2, only struer can get them apart!

Re: New survey!!

Well the worst piece of B&O I have taken apart was a VX5000.
