It would be interesting also to apply the "highest spec" stylus "can" to this special 12 inch arm - the SP14. The SP14 was a replacement for the SP6/7 and is the base stylus. The nomenclature of the range is rather complex and easy to confuse. I suppose the SP15 could be regarded as the best but that was really a MMC cartridge.

Re: Beogram 3000 with Thorens TD 124 MKII - special version

Frede, I must bring your attention to THIS post. Actually the prize for last years Beoworld Personality of the Year was an ST/P pick up arm. I had it mounted on a special plinth before it was presented to Lee. Both my 3000s (one Thorens and one Acoustical) have the normal ST/L arm. Not seen an ST/P mounted on a 3000 before. Very nice! I didn't think the SP12 worked that well as it seems to weigh less than the SP8/9. I did fit one to my 3000 though but had to use a stylus balance to get the correct weight. I have got the SP/MMC converter and was thinking of a MMC20CL!

Beogram 3000 with Thorens TD 124 MKII - special version

This is my very rare and special version of Beogram 3000 - Thorens TD 124 MKII

So for the first time ever, you can see my really personal Beogram 3000 with Thorens TD 124 MKII and with one of the most rare B&O tone-arms in the world (I think) – the Bang & Olufsen 12” professional tone-arm and Bang & Olufsen Pickup SP12 Elliptical.
