The problem is that the BD10 has some rather bad reviews- one of the slowest load times- up to 2 mins, poor build quality and is being replaced very soon

All is absolutely RIGHT!

Some of the films taken even more than 3 minutes to start !!!! even going straight forward to begin quick

Build quality is near BAD and certainly a UGLY device absolutely to hide .

I HOPE this model will be replaced very soon because is already OLD.

In addition, recently a famous AV brand has announced a new HD-DVD player being launched very soon for 60 euros !!!!!

However the enormous difference audio quality between DTS-HD concept and DD5.1 IS HERE... to stay!

I´ve listened to it already, and that´s all what I tried explain you in the post above

I hope you remember well what I explained you about Panasonic Blu-ray and BS3+BV4 demo at my dealer shop.
About the sound:
The difference that all of us (5 persons including Beo-people) felt between the DTS-HD audio track and the DD5.1 audio in the same film is sooooooo impressive than difference between stereo and 5.1.
The BL setup used for the audio comparative were non ALT: BL7.2+BL8000+BL6000+BL2.
I can imagine very well that this difference will be even lot greater when using a full ALT tech BLs setup; for example... 4 BL5s+BL7.4 !!!

You take a kit like this! And get your dealer to add the PS3 to the PUC controller (Yes it's on the list)...

Note not sure that this is the kit that's supported by the PUC, but on like this...

The sound quality is much better than my DVD1 produces in dd5.1. I have the 60gb version. I havnt compared a ps3 to a standalone player, i would be surprised however if there is much difference.

Im not sure how that makes sense as my understanding is that PS3 uses bluetooth not IR for its commands?????

Do i take it that you just operate the PS3 using the bluetooth as it cant be operated via beo4/5??

have you the 40gb or 60gb version? some comments refer to the fact that the sound on PS3 is not as good as a stand alone player- can you comment on this?

The BS3 does support LPCM 5.1 & 7.1 over hdmi, and does go well beyond DD5.1. Most bluray discs have an uncompressed LPCM 5.1 track, I have played many bluray discs on my playstation 3 which is connected to my BS3 with hdmi. When I use the uncompressed lpcm 5.1 track I get way better sound. In terms of sound data I can see from the playstation that about 10 times more sound data is transferred than the dd5.1 track.

BTW. you can get a IR remote for PS3, Lintronic has one but I'm sure you can find it any ware. And then BS3 can control it.

This is a sort of re- post as the answers were limited before

Does anyone use blue ray- or indeed are they interested!

But I have hope as we have THREE pages on bending a powerlink lead! so there is life out there- in some form!

What blue ray players are you using with BS3/bv9/4 We have had one comment saying platstation 3 looked amazing- but this has blue tooth remote only ,and one with reference to the Panasonic BD10 which gets very bad reviews elsewhere and although 12months old is regarded as slow with poor qualities.and with the new sound formats how does BS3 cope with this???

Is there anyone serious here? that can answer the questions or provide some advice- beyond - it looks amazing

ie does BS3......................

Accept LPCM audio over HDMI or support anything beyond DD 5.1?? via HDMI or SPDF . In other words if the player were to decode the audio format what does the BS3 do with it??
