Nobby is quite correct Peter.

Most people who bought 6500 and 7000 systems bought the CD player with the system and they are still working well so no need to replace.

Many 5500 systems were sold with CD50's which are now giving trouble. The CD5500 is the logical replacement both electrically and aesthetically so their S/H value is being maintained somewhat.

I reckon to still get £250 for a 5500 but struggle to find any takers for the 6500 and 7000 varients.

Surprised the CD is going down. The 6500 Beomaster is a tricky one to value - I agree. How much do you reckon? Maybe we need a small group to devise a fluid value chart for older B&O equipment. Graham and you seem like good candidates for a start! Anyone else interested?

Hi Peter,

Recent sales on ebay might suggest that your prices for the CD and Master might need revising downwards.

Graham and Brett have had similar experiences to myself in this respect.

All you need is one of these cables. Simply connect to your PC and to the A.Aux connection on your Beomaster 6500.

Steve, why don't you just connect your PC to it. Then you can have Hard Drive storage and keep yor wonderful B&O system.

I have:

Beomaster 6500
Beocord 6500
Beogram 6500
Beogram CD 6500
MCP and Beolink 1000

Although the Beogram 6500 is packed away in it's box, and has been for many years as I now only use CD's.

Forgot to mention that I also have a pair of RL60's (Don't think they're 60.2's. In loft with floor stands) as I use Bose speakers due to their small size.

By the way, you can get a lead so that this system will connect to your computer and you can use your digital music that way!! I forgot to say - Welcome to Beoworld!

Depends which bits you have - if you have the record player then over £1000 for the 6500 system would be reasonable. The Beocord is worth about £50 , the Beomaster about £200, the Beogram CD about £250-300 and the Beogram about £350-400. The Beolink 1000 is about £40 and the MCP6500 about £75-100. The fact it is a one owner and has the boxes makes it unusual.

Of course if it had been any other make, it would probably be worthless!!

Hi everyone,

I have just found Beoworld and joined.

I have a 6500 system in black/aluminium that I bought new in December 1989. I have all the original boxes (including the ones for the MCP and 1000), manuals and even the invoice for £2,226.80. Also have a 1000 remote as well as the MCP.

I believe it is in very good condition, perhaps a very few minor marks.

I am considering changing to a hard drive system (ok, don't shout at me - I know the B & O iks fantastic, I've had it 18 years!).

So, would it be sellable, I am loathe to put it on Ebay and if I do sell it, want to make sure it goes to a good home!

Does anyone have an idea of what it might be worth?
