Are you sure the cable is a RCA to Scart and not Scart to RCA? also chek that the RCA plugs you use on the VCR is an output not an input.

I have tried a new cable (SCART-SCART + gender changer + SCART-RCA adapter). The adapter has a switch to select input or output (and hence the direction of signal). I have tried all configurations and the TV still shows a blank screen when I select V.TAPE on the BEO4.

The RCA plugs on the VCR are definitely output.

Yes, settings saved.

Yes, MX7000 switches correctly to that socket but the screen stays black.

Am I using the correct cable to connect the VCR to TV? It's a 3 pin RCA (VCR end) to SCART (TV end) but there is a currently unconnected S-VHS plug attached to the cable as well. (I have tried to plug this into the S-VHS port of the TV but it's such an uncomfortably tight fit that I have avoided putting too much pressure on it for fear of damage.)

Hi,
Normally, that should work (V.TAPE on AV1)
You could try to connect to AV2 and choose V.AUX or V.TAPE2 in the SOCKETS menu.

Non-B&O VCR connection to MX7000

I am trying to connect a non-B&O VCR to a Beovision MX7000 using AV cables. Alas without success.

The VCR has three output ports (red yellow white) which were connected to corresponding red/yellow/white input ports on my old TV. The MX7000 only has SCART input and I have a red/yellow/white to SCART cable. (This also has a S-VHS plug on it though I am not sure what it is for.)

The AV1 socket is correctly configured on the TV to expect a non-B&O VCR but yet no video signal is displayed when I choose VTAPE on the Beo4 remote control.

As a workaround I have tuned the TV to the video channel of the VCR but would like to use the AV cables if possible. Any thoughts on how I might get the VCR video and audio when I press VTAPE on the Beo4?
