Well you learn something new every day. I always though they were both the same shape. All that was different was the finsh of the metal panel on the top.

you could also use a beogram 2000 - this is what i am doing with my beocenter 8500.

It will be much easier to find and cheaper to buy as it is not a tangential deck. It doesn't have the "slant" lid but i don't find that this is much of a problem since i don't place it up against my beocenter anyway.

also it is fully datalinked so you can control it via your beolink remote.

Never could understand why the BG9000 & 9500 were not very good matches in shape to the Beocenter 9000 & 9500. If someone does know the answer to this, I would be very interested to hear why.

Yes, it has! The's a BeoGram 9000, but it's square shaped, like the 5005 / 5500. Goodness knows why they didn't match it with it's intended system!

Well, the BeoGram 9500 would be a logical starting point , but you're going to struggle to find one!! You'd be best with one of the slanted decks - they'll look better alongside your 'Center.

Remember, the BeoCenter 9500 has an inbuilt RIAA pre-amplifier, so you'll need to avoid BeoGram 3500, 4500, 6500 and 7000, which already have the RIAA inbuilt to the deck.
