Hello everyone -
I recently bought a used Beogram RX turntable...without a stylus. In the interest of saving a little cash, would it be possible to sub in an MMC20E cartridge for the MMC5 that's on it now? Or is that cartridge not compatible with that turntable arm?
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hi Tony,

unfortunately when it comes to B&O turntables & saving money unless your lucky in the extreme then a cheap solution to a replacement cartridge/stylus isn't really a viable option. Even so called "new old stock" cartridges cannot really be relied upon due to the aging of the internal suspension. The only viable option would be to buy a brand new soundsmith item which not only sounds better than the original but also comes with a warranty.

Not what you wanted to hear I suspect but very much worth every penny of investment if you're a vinyl fan

Wrong fitting I am afraid. You need a MMC1,2,3.4 or 5 - or one of the new Soundsmith ones.
