Is it okey to use a capacitor with a higher voltage marking? I am not sure what the capacitor do in this circuit but it often okey to use higher voltage markings in some applications. This one seems to be a little difficult to find...

Hi,

In most cases, it is not the laser but a small capacitor.

On the small circuit board, where the drive is connected, there is a
capacitor, sign as 2103, 33uF 16V.

Replace it.

Eventually, the drive still be harmonized.

Focus and laserpower.
My CD7000 reads at now CDR-W's

Thanx for the tip :D Will get it back next week probobly and will see how "bad" it still is, but i guess i will try to get hold of a "new" Beogram CD 7000.

Perhaps Ulf (Ulf Kiener) can help you out.
He has done a lot of repairs, including CD 6500 for example.

Im sad today, i have had my Beogram CD 7000 in for repairs at my B&O store but it come down to that the fault is the laser and since B&O dont have them in stock, they cant repair it. So right now i have to settle with a CD-player that is very moody, sometimes it plays as its supposed to but most of the times it "skips" (sounds like it fastforwarding, sort of and then "find" a spot where it can start play again).

Now for my question, is really the only alternative for me to find a "new" Beogram CD 7000, there is no way for me to get a replacement-laser somewhere else? And if that is possible would anybody be able to install it? Me personally have very limited knowledge of "hacking" inside audio-stuff. I have a Beogram CD 5500 but i will probobly die if i where to destroy that one just to rip its heart (laser) out.
