I was wondering if any one havd any idea on the price of the new "audio only" unit and when we could expect to see it? Also any further infomation on the new finishes?

Yes, you can get it through B&O. If you want, I can post the part number in a while. Not sure if it is available outside North America.

Haven't heard about adding the HDMI but you can use a "Scart to RCA" to connect the BeoCenter 2. That should give you better video quality that the s-video that it normally uses.

Does B&O sell a Scart to RCA adapter for the Beocenter 2 or is it ordered from elsewhere?

I´ve read in a Swedish magazine "Hifi&Musik" for a while ago that the BC2 and BV 7 using the drive unit from Pioneer DV-989 but not all of its fine components sadly. They using the same video DAC:s (14bit 108Mhz) and audio DAC:s (Burr-Brown) as the Pioneer, but not the same output stage and signal filters and more, and more.

B&O have made a compromise as usually because the small size and the advanced design. They have only put in the most important components from the Pioneer and skipped all the audiophile and video upscale processor chips/components, and replaced them whit smaller more poorly ones.. Example in sound: The Pioneer have 118db Signal/Noise ratio and the BS2 have only 105 S/N. BV7-40

And the result from one of the best DVD players on the market (Pioneer DV-989 AVI-s) transformed to a half good DVD-player by B&O ( the Beocenter 2 and the BV 7-).

It is exactly the same. The head unit is interchangeable - only the socket set differs. It is a Pioneer DVD drive.

The new beocenter 2 is on the market, I have seen the audio version yesterday in Munich. But the salesman was not sure about the CD-Player. Is this a "better" CD player as in the "old" beocenter 2?

Do you think the BC2 has the best B&O-cd-player you can buy today (better than BS3200/BS9000 and BS4)?

And I don't want to take "older" second life products into account.

This was discussed before. It will have different base unit without the video connections. The head unit is the same. There is going to be a new finish, which looks very similiar except the shiny ring around the number block. Pictures are up in the media center. No mentioning of HDMI though and I doubt it is required since the DVD player doesn't upscale.

The official B&O website now refers to an audio version and a DVD version of the BC2.
