I am changing the topic of thread as it appears as it seems a bit negative. I think it has served a useful purpose though as clearly some did not realise that the rating system existed. I hope this is approved of!

Ah well it's all good. I just don't see the point in rating so many threads as rubbish. Keeping the forum a generally positive place is all i was concerned about when i put up this thread. I know if put up a thread that i wanted people to read, but had a one star, i wouldn't feel as confident to post. Keeping the forums as open to people as possible should be a priority as every bit of information brought to us by the members, counts.

When you enter a topic you find up left the stars. Use your mouse to choose the numbers of stars.

Graham - at the top left hand side of the OP is a line of 5 stars for rating - I think you'll be able to figure out the rest. An old fart like me managed

I think your all taking it personally, I didn't intend to rubbish your posts. Don't over analyze it, I really didn't put much thought into it when I did it.

I don't mind what people do really! If they want to express an opinion on something, a rating or a post is fine. I suppose I would regard a 1 star rating as meaning that the thread was rubbish and so would rarely ( certainly on Beoworld! ) use that. But this is a free site , so post as you will. I suppose it would bother me if people were upset by persistently low ratings so perhaps a little sensitivity is called for!

As not every post on the General Forum is going to butter your sprouts, is there any point in rating down posts that are clearly not going to be of any interest to you? I don't own a Beo 5 for example, so it might be reasonable to think that I might find pictures of other people's Beo 5s boring, so I don't bother looking. If I did, still found them boring and then rated the thread down as a result, what would be the point???
