My cell phone just died and I would really like to try the Serene if only it were quad band. I may give it a try and see if it works in areas I need to use it.

Re: Serene coverage

waltoninn:

If you are in a major city or within a major metropolitan area, then it is fine. However, I have been informed that if you go to the outlying areas, where the 850 band is more prevalent, because the 850 band is better for transmitting over longer distances, then this is problematic, since Serene is a tri-band, and not a quad band phone. The same goes for the Serenata, which causes me to wonder why B&O didn't make the Serenata a quad band phone.

You are right. The B&O dealers asked corporate many times for a quad band but they have not seemed to get the message. Part of the reason most of
the dealers in the US refused the Serenata.

Joe

Re: Serene coverage

If you are in a major city or within a major metropolitan area, then it is fine. However, I have been informed that if you go to the outlying areas, where the 850 band is more prevalent, because the 850 band is better for transmitting over longer distances, then this is problematic, since Serene is a tri-band, and not a quad band phone. The same goes for the Serenata, which causes me to wonder why B&O didn't make the Serenata a quad band phone.

Serene coverage

How well does the Serene work in the US with AT&T/Cingular?

Thanks!
