If they're like the wall brakets they will be "aimable" and so you can point them down toward a sweet-spot.

We have an old house with 3.75m ceilings, the pole brackets centres are 65cm from the top with the brackets positioned at their lowest point on the pole and you would need to add half the height of the speaker (35cm). That means that the bottom of the speakers would be 2.75m from the floor which to me seems a little too high.

I imagine the optimum ceiling height would be between 2.75m & 3.25m as you could then adjust the bracket such that the bottom of the speaker was always about 2.25m from the floor.

Has any BeoWorld member ever used these kind of stands?

I do think you will need decent high ceilings for RL140's - otherwise it will be like having small garden sheds hanging in your living room

Well, 15 kg (plus the pole itself) isn't that much after all. A decent video projector will weigh that

Just yesterday, we fixed the 60.2's I got for the office to the ceiling - I bought those off eBay at a nice price, and as a lucky coincidence, got the ceiling poles locally for relatively little money. I have the Beomaster 2000 driving them at the moment ("how can that thing be so LOUD?" was the first comment...).

Ceiling was the only sensible option for installing these over here. I'd expect the RL140 / 7000 as well look a lot better hanging from the ceiling than a box of similar performance!

Never seen a pair of RL140's ceiling mounted - I hope any prospective buyer has Tudor Oak ceiling joists

The fitting on the pole is different for 140's to accept the bigger hanger bracket.

Not many were sold originally but there is probably less of a market for them now as I suppose not many people can accomodate such monsters hanging from their ceiling!

The last ones I saw on ebay did not get a bid.

I think I have just bought a pair of these. I bought 4 x RL60.2 complete with wall mounts and 2 pairs of stands for some S45.2 speakers and the seller also included some ceiling stands. The mechanism for fixing the ceiling stands to the speaker is just a larger version of the RL60 wall mount mechanism i.e. 9.5 cm square rather than 6.5 cm square. Does that sound about right? What do these generally fetch on ebay?

They are no longer available from B&O and are rarely seen on ebay due to not very many sold when in production.

The ones for RL45 or 60 are more common but be aware that they are not the same and will not do the job.
