How do you find the service menu you refer to?
Do not change anything in this menu. The combination to the costumer menu is: Menu, then set the marker at Options and hit red button + Go.
Under screen information you can see the panel type (Your panel is LTA400HT-L04)
, and under signal information you can see the the input resolution and output res and frequency.
What are your first impressions of your new BV7 Dark Grey so far? Have it lived up to your expectations, and have you tried out Blue-ray 24p on your set?

Funny thing that B&o use two different panels in the BV7 MK3... (The HT and the HS)...

In the service menu there is a SW information selection which you can look at.

Yes, just press 'exit' or 'menu' to get out.

The picture is stunning with both BluRay and high def. I am not sure if the 24p s working. Dealer had software problems when installing it, spent 4 hours. They said it was installed howvere when speaking on the phone with the salesman he is not sure as the BluRay is not getting the right commands on the menu, no fast forward or chapter skipping. Is there a way to check to see if 4.24 is installed?

TV was to be gray but was delivered as silver, it appears box was mismarked at 'B and O so dealer is ordering us a new one.

Regarding the customer menu, once I view it, how do I get out of it to avoid changing anything, just hit exit?

Have now talked to the dealer and been given the combined size of the 2 pallets/boxes for the stand and BV7, we are having it shipped/delivered.

So it is question of being awkward as for the BV7 as opposed to weight? A 50 inch BV4 is 112 pounds according t B and web site whereas the BV7 is only 99 punds.

I think the quoted weight excludes the stand. Put it this way, I barely could lift the floor stand. It's got to be heavy, to accomodate the weight of the TV.

I can handle a normal 50" plasma by myself, but won't touch a BV7-40 without competent help. The system is "back-heavy" and you cannot allow the glass to bear the weight, which means the aluminum frame will soon start digging into both pair of hands. Then you have to place it lovingly on whichever stand you bought. And I sure don't want to scratch the metal doing so. Just one opinion.

And while I am proud to drive many miles to my client's home to set a system up, there is an investment in doing so.

Programming channels is not that difficult. I have assembled and disassembled, packed and reassembled Beolab 1s, which are not light items. Connecting the speakers etc to a B and O tv is far simpler than a typical home theater set up.

I agree B and O stores should set up for free. We have two stores 3 hours away from us. Neither of them would do it for free. In the past the one did provide us free delivery, even offering it on items as small as a Beosound 3000.

Sure I can pay them to come do it but I might have to wait a considerable time and my wife and I want the TV sooner, not later.

As far as negotiation, we had received a very sizeable discount, even if we pay the $600 we are still getting a bargain on the TV.

My recommendation for out of town sales is drop ship to the customer's home and bring in staff to set it up. There is less shipping risk and cost. I agree with the "major feats", plus "2 reasonably stout people lifting and removing carefully from the box so as not to damage the glass and immediately placing it on the stand of choice". But if you think a full day x 2 techs to deliver and do that should be included in the price, that negotiation needs to happen before the genie is out of the bottle. $600 is a bargain, from how I read it.

The purchaser should never have to set up a new BV7-40. Setting up the stand, configuring the channels and making sure all the cables are connected correctly, is a major feat. Although I could probably re-congfigure my BV7-40, setting up from scratch would not be easy.

I can't move my TV unless I have someone to help. It's that heavy. Even with two people, moving the TV is by cm's, not metres! It's that heavy.

If I was paying £9000 for a new BV7-40, I'd expect free delivery and free install. In fact, I'd demand it. Get on to your dealer.
