Jottem,

If you put an scope on pin 8 you will see the actual "data" stream normally from a Beo4 command sitting above the voltage depending on what format has been set with a peak-to-peak value of about 1 volt.

So, if the format is currently set to 16:9 then there will be a constant voltage level between 4.5 and 7 volts and it normally it sits around 6 volts but varies by many factors including cable length. On top of the six volts will be the "data" stream. So in this example with the format voltage at 6 volts then the data stream will be between 6 & 7 volts.

I'm also looking for specs for the AVL signal (the one that controls a VCR or DVD via the SCART socket).

Can anybody help?

Not sure which signals you are referring to when you say "datalink signal" on the SCART socket, if you mean the one way AVL on pin 8 which is also used to define automatic format it is as follows:-

Inactive Source 0V to 2Volts
4:3 format 9.5v to 12 volts
16:9 format 4.5 volts to 7 volts

If you are not talking about pin 8 of the SCART, please define which signal you are talking about.
