mbee, just wondered if you've had a demo yet. In particular you mention you don't want a lab2.

I agree it wasn't needed with just music cds, but when I played a dvd I thought that there was something missing in the deep base when playing the opening scene of the Fifth Element

Thanks mbee,I'd say beosystem 3 + 7.4+panasonic plasma are even cheaper than a beovision 7-40 with 7.2 or 7.4,the panasonic monitors are a real bargain in France at the moment!

For a home cinema with BL9, I think there are some great options :

BL9 front+BL3 rear+ BL7.4 center (full ALT setup) with a beosystem 3 (the most futureproof item of B&O) and a Panasonic plasma (Beovisions 4 are extremely overpriced for what they are : a simple plasma display without B&O electronics, if you want you can buy aluminium frames to make the Pana look more B&O!)

You can make a cheaper system with BL6000 or BL4 at the rear, it will not be full ALT, but I think it's not useful to place too high quality speakers at the rear.

Personnaly, I would avoid a BV7 for its lack of connectivity, for the sound processor which is not as good as the Beosystem 3 and for its integrated DVD which will become useless as soon as you will buy a HD player. (the price of the BV7-40 without speaker is very close to that of the Beosystem 3 with a panasonic 42" Plasma panel, and there is no comparison possible technically)

I'm afraid I do not own them yet,I found the picture in the old forum,but anyway I'm still wondering what to buy with them,I need a new home cinema set up but my budget is limited and I definitely want the beolab 9 to be part of it.What do you suggest?

How do you manage to consider any other loudspeakers after listening to them?NOT boomy at all,excellent balance in the midrange area,still expensive sure but half the price of the beolab 5.I do not want a beolab 2!!What can you do????
