I use Sky+ and it works like a dream in both the main room and link rooms.

I would consider a recordable DVD/HDD player - Philips and Panasonic seem to keep the same codes and will work via a DVD controller. My Panasonic will no doubt have been replaced but has a digital tuner as well as DVD recorder and HDD and works moderately well with the DVD controller. Nothing like as well as Sky + though which could be part of the system when used with my Avant DVD. I am not a fan of the Sky empire, but the technology is just brilliant. If it had a DVD recorder built in to archive the odd programme I want to keep, it would be perfect. As it is, I use a V8000 - about 5 times in the last 3 years!!

Digital PVR which one?

Hello I'm in possesion of an avant dvd 32 which digital pvr will the stb controller operate without having to resort to sky+ thanks
