The 1202 (the one to have!) is really pretty similar to the Beogram 3000 and lost the arm support you are talking about. I think the 1203 was more like the Beogram 2000 and so was not quite so advanced and was cheaper to produce. Does it have a Black plastic piece. If it does it should pull out and lock the arm in place. The arm will not lower but will swing.
