Contrary to most people I prefer it without the brackets although I'm too scared to mount mine on the wall because of the glass panels even though I have secured them. Call me paranoid!!

Re: Can a BeoSystem 3500 be wall-mounted without special brackets?

a piece of advice if you are fixing it to the wall -

make sure that the glass panels on the 3500 units are still firmly attached to the unit as they are held on by double sided tape from the factory and this usually loses stickiness over time which means that the glass falls out and if you are very unlucky smashes on the floor!

I had this problem with my 4500 CD and tape players and then later with my Beocenter 8500!

also from what i remember of the 4500 units, there were holes in the back which could be used but obviously the proper brackets are much better as they tilt the separates up slightly (i'm sure you could replicate this with the wood though)

Re: Can a BeoSystem 3500 be wall-mounted without special brackets?

No special wall brackets needed: you can use a wooden board with screws to hang the components, I can mail a picture to show better what I am writing about....

Best regards

Ralf

Can a BeoSystem 3500 be wall-mounted without special brackets?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering buying a BeoSystem 3500 (ie. Beogram, Beomaster, Beocord and Beogram CD 3500 from about 1990) to replace my ageing Beomaster 1900. I curently have the 1900 mounted on the wall and this does not need an extra bracket, as it has two slotted holes in the bottom plate that can be used to hang it onto a wall using two screws.

My worry is that the Beosystem 3500 User Manual refers to special wall brackets as an optional extra (apparently these are not included with the one I plan to buy). Can anyone tell me if the tape, CD and amp of the 3500 system can be hung on the wall without the special brackets? (ie. do they have the same slotted holes in the bottom panel?) I'm not worried about wall-mounting the turntable, as I have room for this on my record cabinet.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Steve.
