I was waiting for this new product but last week I bought myself a used DVD1 because of the dissapointment of the DVD2. I'll skip this one and wait for the next gen DVD.

My Sony RDR GX-7 is the same. An excellent quality machine but it takes ages to load and has a noisy fan, so it gets only limited use for timed recordings and recording digital video from a camera via the firewire port. The DVD1 however is very quick and very quiet so gets used all the time. I had hoped that by the time B&O introduced a DVD recorder these things would have been sorted.

Re: DVD2

I'd only recommand it for someone who only wants to use the DVD player part of it, not the HD or DVD Recorder part.

For someone with a BV6,8,9, or an older model and who does not have a BC2 or DVD1.

Re: DVD2

wtlc2zpx:

The DVD2 does not even integrate well with the system.

No timer recording for the set top box or from DVB-T.

No channel lock when recording (if you are manualy recording the STB and change channel, or turn of the TV, the recording is affected.

unbelievable

Re: DVD2

Really? The DVD1/V8000/HDR1 units look smart and blend in with all current & previous B&O Tv's. I also question the wall brackets for some of the LCD panels which are also in bright silver.

The DVD2 looks like it is designed to be hidden from the start. Why not offer a black version? From what I've seen there has been a departure from minmalist red lighting for so long a feature of B&O products in favour of what looks like a typical Japanese status display.
