What we are overlooking here is the unique feature of these speakers: taking a look at the rear left it appears that, although an active speaker it does not need to be connected to a power source. Or a signal source. Just think, you can place them anywhere without needing to connect them (but I imagine the extra bulk compared to a 6000 is down to the lead-acid batteries needed to power them?)

B&O does the same in their catalotalogues; you never see any cables

I've had my eye on the B&W XT4s for a while. Sonically superb, although not active so you need more boxes!

The bookshelf versions are also rather nice though...

They don't put much thought into their shots do they? Piddly little screen with four column-like speakers at each corner, and a sofa that sits at a 45 degree angle to it. I suppose if you perched the stool on the table you might get a decent experience?

As for the speakers, they look like a BeoLab 1 had a one-night-stand with a BeoLab 6000 and 9 months later these were born!

Must say, I find these speakers a bit to big to put them as rears but they may suit well as fronts (like modern Penta's). B&O just had to make the 8000 a few inches bigger for some decent drivers...
