Give Steffen some room...

I'm rather fond of the non-B&O stuff he designed... and to my very humble opinion.. I can sum up some stuff which D. Lewis designed on a Monday morning... or after a bad hangover as well!

I'm not particularly taken by the shape of BS6. Not that intriguing, but i'll bet it's easy to use which is a very important aspect of B&O products.

I had a look at the samsung alternative the other day and the screws down each side are visable and the feel is poor. I think with this simple border the "feel" will improve dramatically.

I hope the BS6 does offer extemely good sound quality, and good user interaction.

True, true. I'm sure there's a reason B&O picked him.

That's why I said "I'm sure he could have done better". I somehow feel like B&O picked up the Samsung player and then put his name next to it. I just don't see any design in this product, it is just a box that can play music...

The BeoSound 6 was a nice design, two years ago. Unfortuantly it no longer looks special at all and apple have bought out a superior lookign product.

The biggest issue for Bang, is that it needs to start making special products again - not rebadged Samsung products - everyone knows this is a rebadged Samsung product and that, in my eyes is a cop out.

that is what I was thinking when I read the "designed by" line in the BS6 description. I wonder at what point the designer was involved into the developpment of this product, because the ideas from his former product (seen on his hp) are somehow original, whereas the BS6 sure is not. I'm sure he could have done better than that.

I wouldn´t judge his work just by the one product he did for b&o until today. To me it looks as he didn´t have another chance than simply folding a piece of steel around the already existing samsung player to give it a more noble look. Bs6 is a piece of cheap korean electronics in a posh box and it shows. Imho it´s not his fault, I assume he had a very small budget for this work. And I like this porcelain bowls too, they seem to be quite clever...

Agree. Some things are nice. I wouldn't go as far as to say "inspired" about any of the products, except maybe the bookshelves on the exhibition page. But I wasn't sure what in that picture was his and what wasn't. I also liked his stainless steel spoons for salads, olives, etc.

He does have a sense of humor though, which is important.

me personally hope he won't become the successor of Lewis, because the beosound 6 is not promissing at all and neither are the other product designs on his site; IMHO ofcourse.
