Thanks very much for your experience on this matter Ian. I can't say that I am surprised though I would have loved to have heard a positive feedback on this matter. As an owner of a totally useless MX4000 STB controller I completely understand where you are coming from. I need say no more you said it all.

Many thanks and I will probably go with the "Peter" solution.

I am very shocked by this. So a lot of simple functions a 50 euro costing DVB-T box can, the B&O DVB-T module can 't ? What a shame!!!! Really I do not have words for this.

If the MPeg4 stuff is not EU rule, I would think there is a way around that requirement. Here in the US we had a legal requirement to include cable card support (a small card that plugs into the TV so that no external cable box is needed), never happened for B&O.

I've got the DVB-T module in my BV6 26". It's alright but for £460-ish (can't remember the exact price I paid) it should be a lot better. The picture is good, but it takes too long to turn on, the menu selection should be better - you must press 'Exit' 'Red' to get the TV guide - Not very convienent, the programme details never seem to come up straight away (you must scroll off the page and then come back), you can't edit or reposition any of the digital channels, I can't record (using my Panasonic DVD recorder) any digital channels.

I don't understand how someone could have tested it and thought "yes, this is a great bit of kit, our customers will be delighted with this". If I had any programming knowledge I could make it a lot better in 10 minutes. The problems could be solved via a software update (but they won't be). I would STRONGLY recommend you test it out before purchase, and not on a BS3 based BV7 40" or BV9 - The module may be the same/similar but the BeoSystem 3 chassis enables more options which aren't available on the BV6.

I hope they will, but at this moment they still build analogue tuners into their dvd harddisrecorders, so B&O must hurry then .

InFrance the problem for B&O even becomes bigger. There must be anMPEG4 tuner build in from 2008 in any new television :-). So how wilB&O will solve this problem??

I guess by building one into its TV sets from 2008 onwards?

Bingo, So what are B&O going to do now then? What they are going to do is issue a TV set with a digital tuner and charge its loyal customer base £500 to upgrade their sets!! Anyone know how the DVB-T performs for the BV6-26?

The days of the analogue TV will soon be officially over. A powerful consortium of the UK retailers and manufacturers have pledged to phase out analogue TVs, DVD recorders and VCRs, by the end of the year. The Digital Switchover Supply Chain Group also aims to improve consumer information, as each TV region heads toward switchover.
Explains Danny Churchill, co-chairman of the Digital Switchover Supply Chain Group: “We’ve already seen a rapid transformation in the market for larger, flatscreen televisions, the vast majority of which are now digital. The moves we are announcing will further benefit consumers by continuing that transformation across the full range of television and recording equipment.”
Latest figures reveal that nine out of ten large screen sets sold during 2007 have included a Freeview tuner. However, small screen TVs are still predominantly analogue.
