Haha Bronze? It was orange, I agree with you. The speakers were a nice touch, shame about the, Oh god was it a phillips DVI or something similar which promised games etc but failed miserably! Very pioneering for B&o and if it had taken off like DVD then not having a VCR would not be a problem, Mind you now that I have said that I will get a orangy bronze Loewe connect for the shop. Have you checked out the details on the Connect Peter? it looks almost unbelievable in the technology.

I think it is a good thing that more and more brand are now making more effort in the design despite of our tastes are; after all, it is a part of furniture when it is not turned on. Bang & Olufsen does have the vision, but they are not for the many people. I like most of the design from Bang & Olufsen, the level of details you can find is a lot....which you normally don't find in other brands. The technology evolves so fast..lots of new ideas....here is another one I saw lately, this is something I will buy...(I don't get the chance to buy BV7 which I like a lot, only B&O PLASMA is available in my country)

Somewhat surprising to me too! I think bronze was the description though! They did sound good - mainly because of the big woofer at the back. The extending speakers always seemed like a gimmick to me though and the lack of a VCR because of this made the whole device seem expensive for what you got, especially when the Avant came out.

Really?.........the orange AV5 in demand? In my ten years with B&o I never thought I would ever hear that! ;) Loewe do have a Loewe feel to them and Bang & olufsen has a bang & olufsen feel to it too, tends to be each to their own.................. Still flat out on the floor hearing that AV5's in Orange are in vogue! I wish I had a time machine. AV5 was a great sounding TV and our engineer alwasy maintains even now that it was the best sounding TV B&o made, but orange?

Agreed! Though the orange AV5 seems to be much in demand now! I am sure the majority of sets will be black or silver - just like BV7s! I suppose I rather like Loewe because they tend to have a recognisable Loewe feel to them. The round sensor or switch seems to mark them out.

They tend to do this to catch peoples attention, our BV1 in yellow hung around for ageees until someone bought it and changed the colour, The older dealers will also remember the AV5 in the lovely orangy brown? I got through the prelim brochure on the connect from the Loewe web site and the fully loadedness (new word) of it looks amazing, granted if you have a tunnel vision towards B&o TV's then its not for you as some comments have said, but its at least worth a check out. In my opinion.

Black screen with silver clamp mount - in my view the problem with LCD screens - very difficult to make them stand out. And those that do stand out are then criticised for being wacky!

Fair enough, but it's the competition from other companies that drive our favorites to stay on top. I'm a huge Mac fan boy but I know that sometimes they make crap. And also I know that other companies make good laptops. Even though I'd never buy one, I like to see what else is out there in hopes that when something better is built, the it will push Apple to build something even better.

Same with B&O. The best thing that can happen is Loewe builds something that kicks a lot of butt... because then B&O will be forced to raise their game.

Agree completely that the BV9 is a better TV. Would possibly also agree about the screen proportion and the connections are in a different league. I prefer the size of the BV5 though and the stereo speakers and no ALT. Also like the fact that an HD BV5 is almost at the price level I would consider!!

While I enjoy reading your other posts, this comment is so biased and fan-boyish that I choked on my orange juice. It is entirely possible that one day B&O won't make the best stuff... Especially with the way technology goes, they can be left in the dust mighty fast.

What's GRUNDIG these days?

If B&O didn't exsist, then neither would most of Grundigs designs. It shocks me everytime to see that Grundig continue to copy B&O design cues. That TV on the first post link, is so very B&O, look at the stand - yeesh!

On another note, I certainly hope that B&O realise their high achievement on the BV5 design, and one day somehow bring back this design. It had the potential to be as individual and timeless as BL8000. Please B&O do us & yourselves a favour, and try to remedy the BV9's messy design.
