The short answer is no. It MUST be the same remote control type which was used for setting the timer options.

You can also clear the timer functions by opening the Beomaster and disconnecting the internal battery for 10 minutes. This is probably your best option as it seems you've had this problem since August last year and haven't been able to find the right remote control for the job.

Hi again,

although the timer off is displayed, the receiver still seems to come on on certain nights.

This time it is going to radio station 1 with the volume off.

At least I am not being woken up but it is still anoying.

Is there any way to clear all the settings (reset switch?) including the timer with only a beolink 1000

The problem here is you need to know which remote or MCP was used to programme your system as the same type must be used to cancel it.

Have you tried removing all components from your Beolink 7000 then adding them again?

I wish there would be a way to clear all timers. I have two BL7000s (one 1633 w 3.1 software and one 1540 with the "play next" software), and I have used both bl7000s for programming my beosystem 7000. Everything worked fine until I at one time tries to use the "suspend" function (only availabe in the older bl7000 software), since then my Light timers do not work. I have deleted all timer entries (and then re-adding them) via both my bl7000s, and everything looks ok but still the beomaster do not switch on the lc1s/lc2s as expected. Very irritating.

At least now the timer is off.

Luckily enough, here in Switzerland we have virtually no power cuts. (not once in the six years since I've been here)

If I was still back home in Canada, this would be a real problem as there were many power cuts after winter storms.

If you find a way that I can disble it permanently with the 1000, that would be great.

Absolutely right, Martin

This switches the timer off and the Beomaster displays "Timer off". It does not remove any settings so repeating the proccess returns it back to waking him up at 4.30 am!
Possibly after a power-cut but I'm not sure.

I don't recall exactly but isn't it merely a question of holding the right side of the front panel in while clicking the left side ?

Sadly not. Having said that, I am working on it and if I find a way I will let you know.
I have a Beosystem 7000 and a Beolink 7000, Beolink 1000, Beolink 5000 and Beo4 (Beo5 next month!)
I have timers set for radio and lights and will spend a bit of time today trying to cancel them with my Beolink 1000. If I succeed I'll let you know. In the meantime do you know anybody who has a Beolink 7000 near you that you can borrow?

The previous owner had timers set by the sounds of things, and didn't disable them. Which remote control do you have?

The beosystem 7000 that I recently aquired seems to have a few Ghosts in it.

I have only had the system for one week, and now twice the radio has turned on at 04:30 am.

Luckily I have found out how to set the volume to come on at a low setting (not the first time)

Is it possibe that there is an alarm function on that the previous owner did not tell me about?

Other than that I can only imagine that the street lamp that comes on at around 04:30 is somehow interacting with the IR sensor.

If one of these is not the problem, then we must have Ghosts.
