Cheers, our dealer kindly let us test out a BL2 in this setup but the difference in sound was not favourable and with the 4000's being cut off at the lower register (but nice bass sound nonetheless), so yeah we plan to get a PV1 at some stage. The sound is really nice though, with bucket loads of bass from the BL4000's with most movies and such.

Agreed, nice setup! A BeoLab 2 would be a good move, or if you want a little less welly but more detail, a B&W PV1.

Actually we tried with the speakers closer, and surprisingly the soundstage and balance of the different frequencies is optimal at this position.I suspect that it is thanks to the toe-in design of the 4000's that there is minimal sound that reaches the wall itself.

Good use of the space. I think you can move the speakers about a foot away from the wall on either side, towards the television, and you'll get an even better focus of your sound relative to where you are seated. And I suspect the standing lamp on the right might balance the effect of the recess on the left, though you won't have any bass damping issues with those speakers.
Try experimenting with moving the speakers a little and I think you'll be surprised at the effect.

Given the proportions of the room, I think you're quite close to the Cardas ideal. Have a look at this link:

Nice! I like the black BV 3 28" and the BL4000 on stands! Any taughts on purchase a BL 2 for the dynamics?

It is, our TV room but still a work in progress which is still needing a decent rug, TV unit and coffee table... we're pretty proud of how well all the B&O matches though!

in my opinion there are several mistakes concerning the speakers positioning... like soundproof said it's a waste of BL5s.
another thing is the user positioning, you'll never be in the center of the stage.

But you can choose! Music for the left ear or music for the right ear, depending on which side of the room you choose to sit ... It's a silly arrangement of sofas.

Dear All:

I will echo others--too much going on. Personally, I am more into mid-twentieth centure furniture, minimalist and comfortable. If you took away some othe pieces, sound and appearance would improve.

Kudos to the designer for trying to mirror both sides of the room by the placement of furniture and art, however like what some people have said it does come across as slightly too corporate looking. Reminds me of the QANTAS Club in Sydney, albeit with better furniture and electronics and no darn mini pies.

Just spent more than a week in the ARTS hotel in Barcelona

All rooms equiped with B&O: standard bed rooms have BL4000, BV6 26 plus BC2..... at least....

rest of the hotel fully equiped with BL4000 or BL6, BL8.....

really best decorated hotel I know in spain!
