I looked at this same setup 2 or 4 years ago. My memory is that that it was far cheaper to spend the money getting a good quality additional set of passive speakers, low resistance/reactance cable, and a (rarish and expensive) sensor to hook up to the 5500

To used the lexcom system you will need a beolink converter to the BS5500

If you have a Power link modul in the lexcom system, then i think that can be used to MCL, but think ML is better.

Most likely, what is the Type number of the one you have ? is it 1611 ?

Do you know if the converter I need for the Beosystem 5500 is the same as the one I have for my MX7000?

One being used as a linkroom speaker, while the other is to be used as the master of the system.

OK, if you have Masterlink, then no problem using the Beolab 3500

I do not know the age of the Beolab3500. I have been offered to by a used one.

My house has a LexCom Home network with a Beo masterlink module in the basement.

My television has a converter to masterlink. Do you think it would work with a similar converter to the BS5500?

Or maybe I can run MCL over the Lexcom masterlink module. I think it is passive unit. Like a conjunction box with RJ45 connectors.

Not sure how old your Beolab 3500 is, but you have a Masterlink socket and an Master Control Link Din socket. By default it will use the Masterlink, but this can be changed.

This can be connected to your Beosystem 5500 in another room and the MX7000 also supports datalink.

I have two ML/MCL questions.

Is it possible to create a link room setup with a beolab 3500 controlling a beosystem 5500 in another room?

How about a MX7000?
