Does anyone know if you can switch loudness in/out with a mk3 control? I can achieve this with my mk2 using a shift command but not on my mk3...

*I should add this is with my master 5500...

Hi Andy,

thanks for all your help, at least now I can listen to radio and not just static.

I guess I'll be searching for a Beolink soon, as the only reason I chose the 7000 over the 6500 was for the RDS.

The RDS module can also be fitted to either later BeoMaster 6500s, or all 6500s...

No, you can't see the frequency on the Beomaster, only on the Beolink7000.
However, if you know the frequency you're after, you can enter it in four figures on FM only.

Radio Goto 1015 store 7 store = 101.5 FM stored on channel 7
As soon as you press Goto, it should say "F" on your Beomaster.

If you want change to AM, then

Radio Goto Shift Sound then immediately up or down button before it slips back to FM
It should say "A" on the Beomaster..
I am not 100% sure but I think the only two differences between 6500 and 7000 is that
6500 only available in White or Aluminium 7000 also available in Black and mirror finnish
7000 has RDS decoder whereas 6500 hasn't.
RDS decoder is not much use unless you have a Beolink 7000. However, if I remember correctly, Channel name and frequency can be seen on a linked in TV like LX4500. Radio AV Radio Menu springs to mind but don't quote me on that!

thanks for the info. it seems to work, however I can't seem to display the frequency of the channel.

Is this something also only avail. on the Beolink 7000.

I thought that the main difference between the 6500 and the 7000 was that the RDS would display on the receiver.

If that's not possible then what's the difference?

Hi Rabble.
The Beomaster does not display RDS or the clock, sorry.
RDS and the clock are displayed on Beolink 7000.
As for radio tuning, it's easy with Beolink 1000

Radio goto up or down button.

Once you get the channel you want

Store 7 store (Choose your own number)

Come back if you have any problems.

I've just acquired a Beosystem 7000 that came with a beolink 1000.

Most of the controls are quite simple to do except for controlling the radio functions.

I can't seem to search for new station and I can't display RDS or clock, all I can do is use the stations that were previously programmed.

Does someone know what the commands are to do this, or do I need a Beolink 7000?

Shift changes the key code (last 2 digits), link sets a bit...

11:00091 AV + A.TAPE (Beo4)

We cut test this! If somebody has a LC2 and a BL1000 mrk3+, then press shift + link and see if it controls the light?

I think the shift command maybe only, is setting a bit in the bit stream it's sends!

F.ex

A.tape 00101010

shift + A.tape 10101010

and

A.tape 00101010

link + A.tape 01101010

would be nice to know

Press shift, with your hand completely covering the IR transmitter at the end of the BeoLink, and press shift, then uncover your hand and press A.Tape. A.Tape 2 is still activated, even though the BeoMaster/Center didn't receive the SHIFT command.

The BeoLink 1000 is actually pretty smart under the hood, smarter than you would expect it to be just from appearances.

I think you're right. I don't remember what the situation was, but came to the same conclusion once when I had to use an older bl1000

I still don't know quite which remote I've got, but I take the point that its 3+, that all 3+ have the same functionality, and I don't need to know more than that.

I'm becoming more curious, however. I had assumed that all button presses were transmitted, and that the receiver took note of use of the SHIFT key, to work out what is going on. However, since SHIFT functions seem to be different on each of mk1, mk2 and mk3, it must be the remote which converts the SHIFT+<another key> into a code to transmit.
