Actually the latest version of software is 10.4 but unless you actually have a problem or it is needed because you are going to add a DVB-T or DVB-S module, then I would leave it as is. To update the software requires a chip to be changed on the board behind the Dolby sound module.

For the Mark I Beovision 5 the sound module is correct

I just brought myself a second hand BV5 Mark I and wondering if its worth while to get the software update to 10.3 which I think its the last software that it can be updated for this type. Does it need any chip or its just an software update?

Plus on the sound menu under type, it only gives one type which on my is Dolby 3 stereo, does it give you a choice or its this correct?
