Must be the problem that those files/software is just not Universal, so not running on any Intel Mac. Too bad.

Well i think the old firmware worked when i did it via PC, but no avail for the latest MAC updates. This is the site i was using to try and figure it out. It just ain't happenin'! *sigh*

The iMac just won't accept these files. Sure it downloads them ok, but they are completely useless. Grrr

Yes you are right. I also have Intel Macs, and i just downloaded the BS2 Plugin for iTunes that B&O provides, just to find out about your issue. But this does not even run, it crashes already on startup. Really a shame, and Intel Macs are not that new anymore, they are out quite some time, so enough time for B&O to adapt their software.

I have an intel iMac, B&O never created software and firmware that was compatible with intel macs. Grrr, a real shame.

Actually i do not have a BS2 myself. But doesn't the update function work together with iTunes? So that you have to use iTunes for FW Updates. There should be a button for this somwhere on the bottom left or right.

The program you download from the B&O site contains the fireware and this program is installed on your PC or MAC depending on which one you have downloaded. The following is what is stated on the B&O web site

Here you can download the newest drivers and BeoSound 2 firmware for PC, or get the latest iTunes plugin for Mac.

MAC users only:
Please note that if your BeoSound 2 was purchased together with a software version previous to 2.00, you will need to update the BeoSound 2 firmware using the BeoSound 2 version 2.00 installation for PC.

I tried by downloading the PC version to my Windows PC and it installed fine. Can you do that successfully ?

I've raked through all of the downloads on the B&O site and the problem is, how do i get the firmware updates actually onto the BS2, has anyone actually done it? I've tried everything on the mac, and have already used a PC to do the first upgrade. I'm so confused as to why the firmware doesn't work. I even downloaded the technical software (firmware reader) but it did not work on the mac. I think B&O have forgotten about mac users!

You can download the latest software which updates the firmware from the B&O site HERE

All BeoSound 2s can be updated to be Mac compatibility, however it is not possible to use a Mac to do the first update on an older BeoSound 2.

So, if you have an older BeoSound 2 you must update the BeoSound 2 via a PC. After this first update, all future updates can be done via a Mac.

I've tried to figure out how to install the latest firmware on the BS2 vis our intel imac and it just isn't happening! Do i need certain software, or can it only be done via a PC??
