Yeah the PV1 has all the same feature, including auto sense on/off, but it is fairly pricey ($2,200). Personally, i am saving up for one to compliment our BL4000's. Also planning on getting a lintronic, but just spent all our cash on a Beogram

Hey David, thanks for the Lintronic tip-off, I found em online and will order the receiver tomorrow. Solves all my remote nightmares in one easy package. Like the look of the new Beo5, might indulge when it comes out.

Seems the AS2 might be the one.

yes, a second recommendation of the PV1, though it seems I need something with an auto on/off, not sure if it has it, will check it our online. A local hi-fi shop stocks them too.

Anyway, thanks for all the responses, it's helped clear up a few things and stopped me from making an uninformed and wasteful purchase.

To the drawing board...

Lintronic is a little box that is programmed by a computer to convert signals from the Beo 4 to whatever the signal your non b&o remotes sent, thus you can work your non B&O with the one remote, the beo 4 or if you end up getting one, a beo 5!

Oh sorry i meant the AS2, woops, the AS2 is pretty darn good, but i'd hide it away. It has plenty of power going to it's 10" mica cone and has the same adjustability and features as the PV1.

Before having a BL2, I was thinking about Velodyne. They do make incredible products like their SPL-R Series small subwoofers. In fact it's a nice combination of beauty, brains and brawn. Those nice little things will ramble your entire living room with their 1000-watt RMS amps.

In onother way, I will recommand the B&W PV1 if you deserve something that's close to B&O for a "fraction" of the BL2's retail price.

I got a Magnat Motion SUB200A - ugly, so I had to hide it.... but only 100€ on ebay. Has all the controls. I used a 5-pin DIN to RCA (female) then a long cinch cable from this adapter to the sub, but you can use similar ones also (http://cgi.ebay.de/5-pin-DIN-to-RCA-cable-for-B-O-bang-olufsen-2-0M_W0QQitemZ9714920879QQihZ008QQcategoryZ33205QQcmdZViewItem)

Good point, I don't really want to turn it on or off every time. Can you suggest a sub that would suit what I need, running from the PowerLink 2 from the BL6000. How do you have your non-B&O sub connected and what are you using?

Attenention, please!

The AS1 doesn't seem to have auto on/off. You need to switch it on or off manually. And no way to manipulate the take over frequency (may the switch music/movie does something similar).

I've just decided not to go with the Delphonica, would be a shame to couple a B&O system to such a thing. It will be the AS1 I reckon.

If I had my way (oodles of cash) I'd install B&O throughout. Had to make a compromise with my new home theatre room and went with Bose as it's not a big room. The 5 satellites and sub will be further boosted by a couple of Ramsa PA speakers which have an awesome sound. My biggest beef with my new setup is the clunkiness of operation. The remote from my Sony receiver is so difficult to drive, nothing like the simplicity of the Beo4.

Thats fair enough, they are compact and they sound alright considering how invisible you can make them for keeping interior aesthetics nice. Well hey, you could always get a Lintronic so that you can use your Beo4 for everything! I suggest you audition some subs, especially the AS1 because it is so affordable!

I agree with David. Bose are good at what they do, which is make sub/sat packages. However, they are no way near the same as B&O, in terms of build, performance and design.

The current B&W subs are all very good speakers. The PV1 is one of the most highly regarded subs around, and their others also perform very well (although none of them have quite the same visual factor).

The AS1 Is also very good, and quite affordable, but not all that attractive! I'd recommend it for the price and it is very adjustable which would be very helpful in getting your setup sounding right. BOSE and B&O, chalk and cheese!

I've heard the PV1 recently and it's nice, looks a bit like the BL2 too. Any idea what the B&W AS1 sounds like? I'd consider this for my setup as I don't think Delphonica make reputable stuff...could be wrong here. Spent too much money lately. Got a Bose setup and Sony high-end receiver to complement my Bravia in another room. Rather have gone with another B&O setup but not enough rainbows around here.

I got a Magnat Motion SUB200A (or so...), it works, but issue has been the takeover frequency which I set to 100 Hz now. Same with loudness, sounds are different depending on your source. So you need to experiment a little bit. Just be sure that the two setting are to be set at the active sub.

I heard the BL 2 yesterday at my dealer, it adjusts better. But same story here: no budget.
