Piet,

Whilst you are able to update the Serene firmware, there is no update for the Bluetooth spec.

The software version can be checked by entering *#1234# on the mobile phone.

The latest Serene firmware version is FI1 which appears as the last three characters displayed.

Your problem is caused by the fact that the Serene only supports Bluetooth versions 1.1 & 1.2

The latest Bluetooth version being used by some mobile manufacturers like Nokia is version 2.0

Our new car has a build in mobile phone portal working with bluetooth. This should give you access to the phonebook and recent caller list of your phone. The phonebook and caller list is downloaded to the mobile phone portal of the car, It works fine with Nokia phones but not with the Serene. Problem is that the phonebook and caller list is not downloaded. Calling and answering calls is working properly.

Information from the car manual: Supports Bluetooth handsfree profile V1.5 and is specified to bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

Does anyone know what causes this problem and if there is a solution (firmware upgrade for the Serene maby)?
