I'm currently running my BeoLab 2 with an non-B&O surround box. A B&O store (US) ordered the adapter for me. I'll have to double-check, but I think you plug an RCA connector into one end and your powerlink cable to the Lab2 on the other end. It also has a wall-wart transformer to provide the ON signal to keep the Lab2 awake. I don't remember, but it might take two RCA plugs. If so, it should work with a stereo speaker like the 7-1. I'll double-check this tonight.

Well, darn.

Too bad that's the only way to do it. I don't have time (or a workbench! )to solder anymore these days; I was hoping there was something simpler. Guess I'll have to go for a pair of separate speakers instead.

Yes it cut be done, but you need to make your own cable, from a normal Power Link. Green and brown is L/R, yellow has to be supplied with +5V to power speaker on. and shield and blue to ground.

Well, I don't own a BL7-1 or /2 -- but my BL3s connect nicely through a Powerlink to RCA adapter supplied by B&O, and I would be surprised if you couldn't use a similar one with these speakers. The only issue being that you want to be certain you get a stereo-connection.

I have separate channel wires now, with a Powerlink plug in one end and RCA in the other. You would want a Powerlink plug with two strands of wire going out, to separate R and L plugs.

Could you hook up a BeoLab 7-1 or 7-2 to a non-B&O audio source? I understand there's no line-in option, making powering on an issue. Is there a way to get around that?
