Absolutely right, but you are still looking at £75-150. I have a Beocenter 7000 and no intention of getting a 2200 or a 4000! The 2200/4000 would be OK for a 'diposable' system if you are just dipping you toes in the B&O waters though.

It cuts both ways really. The Beocenter 2200 was certainly no classic, but now you can pick one up in good nick for £30-£50 or sometimes less it makes a great introduction to B&O even if it is going to end up in the skip when something goes seriously wrong. I think is probably a better buy than the 4000 which tends to fetch a little more.

You are probably right! I am a bit out of date! As said before, I actually would not look at one as repairing them is not easy. It is an interesting machine though.

I think £125 for a Beocentre 4000 without speakers is a bit optimistic these days. The lack of a CD or tutrntable and the Japanese origins count heavily against it.

Getting £125 would require a superbly put together advert and a lot of luck. The last two to go on ebay went for £80 and £9.99 (Had a scratch on the lid)

The Beocenter 4000 was actually a Japanese device - quite novel though! They do fetch about £125 usually on eBay and about £20 at car boot sales. Personally, I wouldn't touch it. Difficult to keep going as parts are a big problem.

The RX2 is worth about £60 - 75. If it has a cartridge, sell it separately and if you are lucky, that could get £50 as well. Prices are very dependent on condition. Top prices will be on eBay and you need to take pictures and describe the products properly. Having some feedback helps!

HI,

My father has aquired a beogram RX2 (tpye 5831) turntable and a beocenter 4000 twin tape deck. They are both in working order but there are no speakers with it but he has asked me to look into selling it for him. He has been told by a friend if his that they are worth quite a bit (more than I would think!) and I was wondering if anyone could give an idea as to the value of these items please.
