if cat 6 is the same cable as kallasr used it will work just fine (max 100 meter for Powerlink)

I've got a situation where i'm wanting to use the same CAT 6 STP to make the runs for my subwoofers.....i'm guessing...just make the run and than take any 2 of the leads and cut a RCA cable in half and attach the plug to the RCA cable....should work..yes?????? thanks

Ralf, well done for thinking laterally. May I add a couple of thoughts. You didn't need to use a MasterLink junction box, you could have used a strip connector within a small box. Boxes I've used are ones for coax TV splitters that have three or four holes. They are cheaper to buy than the boxes alone(!!), just throw away the circuit board for the coax splitter. They also tend to have a neat 'snap-on' lid.

My other thought, at least you've used shielded ethernet (for Lexcom). Not sure what lengths this could be extended to though, as the MasterLink cable is specially matched and balanced regarding resistance, twisted in specific groups with solid earth wire and shield for each and no doubt made for minimum interference as a result.

The LexCom system looks fantastic, by the way. Wish I'd had one installed.

You have to connect the shield together also...

If you look at your junction box you can see that it's the small one there is mounted in a big casing

Ok, I used a ML junction box to merge the three cables via patch panel.

As soon as I get the Lexcom ML/Ethernet cables I will see if it works.

A hub will not work, the Junction box has a Max of 4 leads (4X8 wires).

Does it matter if you use small or big version?

is it the junction box? if yes ! there no difference of 2 only the size a max of 4 leads i both.

no problem, if a junction box can take three ethernet cable wires (3 x 8 wires actually), I will go for it!

(you were talking about the network hub not working, right?)

No, it won't work sadly.

You don't NEED an ML junction box, you can just wire the connections together. However, I do think the ML Junction box is actually quite good. Sure, it's a bit costly for what it is, but it's very neat and tidy, and just feels more 'professional' than a simple solder job.

Is there not a local dealer with an installation team who can help? They will have the most experience, and hence are likely to come up with the most suitable solution!

Dear Forum,

I already managed to link a Beovision 3-32 with a Beosystem 2500 via selfmade masterlink-ethernet cables so that I can use my ethernet cabling.

Now I want to add a link room.

Can I just use a ethernet hub to merge the ml cables? Or is a ml distribution box or at least a junction box, small, neccessary?

I will get new cables from lexcom (they look much better than my homemade ones) so a hub would be perfect, no more selfmade stuff...
