as far as i know, the BV 7-40 is approx. 3k€ more, than a 10-46 ... and soundwise there is a drastic difference ... and should be, because both 7-2 and 7-4 are serious speakers.

But as you have BL9's in your setup, which should be able to virtualize a decent center speaker to a good extent ... i think i'd go for the bigger screen with the smaller footprint spacewise.

Another option: Pick one of the non-3D 7-55's for the same money ... 8-10k€ will buy you a magnificient TV with built-in BR, marvellous motor stand and a sweet 7-6 speaker. So ... if i think it over ... i'd opt for the latter

Cheers

I have looked at it in the shops, It really is a nice set of tv - fairly expensive.. It also takes alot of space compared to the BV10. We have had the BV10-46 for some time and we love it, the picture is good, the sound is good the design statement is awsome :)

If you buy souch a tv with builtin 5.1 decoder you sould have atleast the front system, it lifts the experience alot - atleast in my little world :) You can get the BL3 in different colors - white wallmounted, U dont even see them.. But everyone is different :) Sometimes we only use the 2 BL3 when watching tv - great sound.

When U get tired of the tv you can always get new frets in a different color to match the new carpets or whatever in the room..

Re: BV10-46 vs BV7-40 (larger screen vs better sound)?

hotknife:

Hi, guys,
because the new BV 7-40 3D incl. speaker (BL7.4 or BL7.2) is roughly in the the same league as the BV10-46 with antireflex screen I`d like to hear your opions.

I've owned a BV7-40 for many years (with 7.2 and 7.4 combos) and now a 10-46.

The 10-46 is no way near the level of a BV7-40 with 7.2. There's quite a lot of difference. The BV10-46's audio is quite flat. Lacks depth. Understandable if you take in to account the depth of the TV.

However, it's no way near as bad as some people have made out. I'm happy with the 10-46 audio quality. It's just not as good as a 7.2. Of course, you could add some BL3s or similar to the BV10-46. I haven't, as I don't want my living room to look like the TV dominates the room and I feel it will if I start adding speakers to the TV.

I don't miss my BV7-40. I prefer the style, the easel stand and my red fret on the BV10-46.

BV10-46 vs BV7-40 (larger screen vs better sound)?

Hi, guys,
because the new BV 7-40 3D incl. speaker (BL7.4 or BL7.2) is roughly in the the same league as the BV10-46 with antireflex screen I`d like to hear your opions. I think, if somebody uses the BV10-46 with some nice add. front and rear speakers, the lack of sound is (or is not) hard to take? But you will receive a larger screen and a much better looking telly. I do not think, there is so much difference regarding picture quality. Yes, the BV7-40 has the BeoSystem 3, but if you do not need any beamer etc., you pay for something you do not need.

So the million doller question is: larger screen and more style or a little better picture and much better sound and a telly and speaker like a rock?
