It seems to me that docks for playing music is the old way. Airplay is the way going forward so you can still use your device while playing music wirelessly.

As my wife would get upset about yet ANOTHER device, maybe I will just mount the thing next to the TV. That would make it easy to use.

This would allow you to mount the iPad separately on the wall.

It will get messy!

I might be incline to try an iPod touch.

Hello,

I posted a question about using the Ipad with the Beosound 8 two weeks ago. No-one responded. The showroom staff advised NOT to put the unit on the wall if I have the Ipad in the dock. That brought up 2 questions:

1) To use the IPad with a so-called "dock extender" cable OR

2) To use a line-out cable from the IPad to the unit.

I wonder if anyone could advise.
