Another quick question re the Beocenter 2300. CD has stopped working (disk does not revolve) - is there any chance of a simple solution to this or is it usually something complicated that requires it to go back to a B&O place to be repaired at vaste expense? Any thoughts will be most welcome.

Sound heavenly at the end of this page can provide cable, check the distance from lap to speakers, you can use the same cable to play directly from MP3 players

Connecting Beolab 8000 speakers to my Sony Windows 7 laptop

Hello,

I am completely new to the B&O world and have the chance to buy a pair of Beolab 8000 speakers at what seems a very good price. Trouble is the Beocenter 2300 cd player being sold with it does not play. Rather than spend a lot of money on repairing it I see that there a possibility to connect the speakers to my Sony Viao laptop where my music library is and use it as the cd / music player. I am completely non-technical as far as this is concern so could someone kindly advise me in laymans language 1. whether this really is possible and 2. just what I would need to do and lastly 3. whether this way i will get the full benefit of the beolabs with the active amplifiers (whatever that means )

Many many thanks.
