Anyway, this is a grett forum with (too) much information .

Solution:

Plug headphones or just dummy headphone plug in and you are all set, control is returned to the BS9000 device. No soldering needed, no risks involved.

Propable keywords for search in future purposes: BeoSound 9000 TV OPERATED problem a.opt

Thank you and Happy New year

That should set your BS9000 to a.opt 1.

1. I do not know any way to change the option setting without a remote

2. your BS9000 should not forget its setting; maybe this was due to a power cut?! My BS9000 lost only once its option...can't remember exactly how

3. sorry no answer (but I think they both are equal)

4. remote: maybe a second life Beo4 will help you saving a little money and being able to control your system?!

Regards Elmar

BS9000 TV OPERATED problem

Hi,

I am total newbie in Beosound world and and I am facing problems with my system - BeoSound 9000 connected with Powerlink to MCL2P which drives my passive speakers.

When I received the unit it went (or was set) to Option 0 (tv operated)). I found the setting instructions how to change this as stand alone system (a.opt 1) with a borrowed Beo4 rcu. Everything was fine for few days and now it has returned to this same state so I cannot control e.g. volume any more (pressing buttons will show TV OPERATED info msg). So 2 questions (now 3):

1. Is there any way to change the option without Beo 4 (or other Beo) rcu ?

2. How I can get it to keep the setting, it is way too difficult to teach for rest of the family ?

3. Is there any difference which Powerlink output I use for connecting MCL2P ?

I am going to buy Beo 4 but seller is out of town for weekend and I have new years party tomorrow, so your quick help is preciated.

++tapsa

PS. I do own few programmable remote controllers (Sony RM-AV2500 and One4All 8) if those could help ? I quess i would need to find right codes for them. For Sony I am using B&O codes space, but it lacks the red dot, LIST and GO buttons, so no help there
