But I first want answers to my questions before buying.

So any answers about the following questions:

- How is the picture quality of the BV5 in comparison to my panasonic
- How can I connect all my equipment (now 2x HDMI, 1Xscart and 1x Component) to the BV5 for video and audio?
- As the BV5 is second hand only, what is an acceptable usage (standby days, etc.)

BeoLink convertor uses an Aux cable from the BeoCenter 2300 and converts to Masterlink to connect to the BeoVision5.

BeoLink convertor uses an Aux cable from the BeoCenter 2300 and converts to Masterlink to connect to the BeoVision5.

I agree that the BeoVision 5 has a stunning design.

You need to be aware that the BeoVision 5 will NOT have HDMI. You'll have to rely on the component inputs for high def. You might need to add a Geffin switch box to add more component inputs. The Geffin switch is the only one supported by that PUC, which might need to be updated.

If you go this route, you might consider searching for a second-hand first generation Apple TV before they become too rare. The second generation Apple TV only has HDMI.

Hi all,

After great advice on this forum I've decided to come back with new questions.

My current setup is:
- Beocenter 2300
- Beolab 8000 / BL 2
- Panasonic 42PV70 (HD Ready) TV
- HD settopbox
- HD Mediabox
- Sony DVD Player
- Wii

I have everything connected through Aux on the beocenter and have an universal remote control which works excellent.
Nevertheless I really would like to have a surround sound experience in my living room.
I have thought about buying a Yamaha receiver with pre outs, which can provide me the surround sound set up (with 2 Beolab 6000 on the rear).

However I still have to buy a centerspeaker (beolab 4000). So new thoughts have come my way.

I saw an Beovision 5 (HD ready), which has an absolutely amazing design and also has an integrated center speaker.
So I'm thinking about replacing the Panasonic TV for the beovision 5.

A few questions before doing this:

- How is the picture quality of the BV5 in comparison to my panasonic (I don't expect it to be better, but also don't accept to be worse)
- How can I connect all my equipment (now 2x HDMI, 1Xscart and 1x Component) to the BV5 for video and audio?
- As the BV5 is second hand only, what is an acceptable usage (standby days, etc.)
- Can I connect my beocenter 2300 to the TV (because there is no masterlink on it)?
