I wont want to dock the iPad because id really like to use it whilst im listening to my iTunes or just leave it on a coffee table so its within easy reach that's why Airplay is appealing. I'd of thought it would only add £100 to the rrp?

A separate airport express allows you to position the bs8 in an area without very good wifi reception and locate the airport where you want.

A separate airport express allows you to upgrade the airplay part if apple ever bring out AirPlay 2.

A seperate airport express with the bs8 will be cheaper than the airplay version.

Its still better to just dock the iPad or iPod anyway, for sound quality and battery life.

I just don't get the need to have everything built in

Having had both. . .the BeoSound 8 is MUCH better. IMO

The lab 4s have a very 'tinny' sound. .

Yes BeoSound 8. Why not wait for the updated Airplay spec one in 2012? Or at least that's the rumour...

To my ears BeoSound 8 is much better than BeoLab 4.

Looking to get some speakers for the bedroom and was wondering interms of sound quality which is better. They are both about the same price and I love the looks of both. I have an extra AirPort Express I would use to connect it with the rest of the house.
