Unfortunately it seems that i wont be able to fix it by myself , atm i cant afford getting B&O technician to fix it, so for now my Avant stays as the biggest art piece in my room :) cause I'm not going to throw my beauty out :)

Thanks anyway

Regards

However, DO NOT DO THAT unless you know what you are doing!

That
mode bypasses the internal protection circuits, so the TV doesn't care
if for example its power supply is grossly overloaded by some internal
defect, which caused the problem in the first place. It might be a
"false alarm" due to some minor problem, but just as well the TV could
go up in smoke! This test mode is not a fix for anything.

Think of it as replacing a blown mains fuse with a screw.

Unfortunately I don't know much of anything about Avants, but I do know that fixing TVs is best left to professionals.

Re: Avant 32 DVD

The full service manual is not exactly helpful to us non-technical owners, but I found this entry:

If an error occurs in the I²C bus system which makes the TV go into stand-by every
time it is attempted to be switched on, it is possible to switch on the TV in such a
way that the error is ignored:
- The TV must be on stand-by for at least 5 seconds.
- Short-circuit the service socket, P84 on AV Switch PCB14, coordinate 5L, for a
minimum of 0.5 second. See ➢5.
- Remove the jumper.
- Press TV. The TV will now start up in the bus ignore mode if that is possible.

You might need to upgrade to access the full manual on the main Beoworld site..... and get some competent help.

Graham

EDIT: can't post the image (in pdf manual).

PCB14 is the white square immediately below and towards the left hand end of the bar code label.

(Don't ask me for more info: I have just copied this from the manual which you really need to check for yourself!

Re: Avant 32 DVD

unfortunately still not working , there is single click sound every time i turn the tv on, however its still staying off except lcd screen is showing "TV 1"

Re: Avant 32 DVD

A TV will ignore remote if set to option 0, which can happen by mistake in certain situations.

Whilst this is not common - its a bit hard to accidentally do - it is not unheard off, and is the first thing to check when a TV ignores IR , and it is certainly the cheapest to fix !!

Firstly - check your Beo4 by looking at the IR emitter via a mobile phone camera - you will see the flashing signal. Sometimes failure to respond to a command is actually failure to send, not receive. Check your manual buttons for operqation on the tv itself.

Suggest you try the following.

1. Unplug for about 5 mins.

2. Disconnect everything that may be attached - ML, VCR, STB et etc - and have a DVD to hand that you know is not scratched etc.

3. Plug back in.

4, Put the TV into Option 1 ( press list & standby together, press list to display OPTION, press GO, presslist to display V.OPT, press 1 - TV LED should blink to confirm)

Try again with the DVD.

If the above doesn't work, there is an issue inside your Tv that needs an engineer. Sadly, any repair cost (unless DIY) is nowadays likely to be more than just buying another on line.

If it does work, unplug & reconnect your other stuff.

i think a short video will explain the problem more accurate
