I did reboot it, already a few times actually.

Sometimes it helps for a while, but after a few hours it starts to do it again.

I copied about 17.000 songs, this took a week to finish.

You could consider making a re-boot of the BM5 first?

It's a beosound 5 not the encore. I copied around 3000 songs and MOTS took a complete night and then some hours.

welcome to Beoworld and congrats on your purchase !

To help with the diagnosis did you buy a Beosound 5 and its black box brother the Beomaster 5 that stores your music;

or did you buy the Beosound 5 Encore that you connect to your pre-existing music store on a NAS / external drive ?

Also, how many songs/tracks do you have in your library and how long did you wait for MOTS to complete calibrating your collection ?

( I dont have a BS5, but I think answers to these questions will help others address your problem )

Beosound 5 problems

Hi,

I'm new as a Bang & Olufsen owner and I have some questions. Last week, 'they' installed a beosound 5 with a pair of beolab 9 speakers in my house.

This far i'm quite happy with the performance of the speakers, but i'm a bit disappointed about the besound 5 thing. Keeping in mind the cost of this machine, I find the functionality it offers weak. If i put my iPad on a stick I get more functionality.

Anyway, one of the main problems now is that it just stops playing while playing a (red/green/..) playlist or doing MOTS. It displays the song it should play allright, but no sound. In one of my more patient moods I waited to see what would happen. It seems that after a 'silent' song it would skip to the next one and start playing this one without problem. Also, when it is doing this, pressing forward&back will play the song without problem.

Anybody has similar problems, or god forbid, a solution?
