&lt;p&gt;You get re-tipped cartridges for a reasonable price, don&amp;#39;t ... repeat ... DON&amp;#39;T buy new old stock on ebay as the materials used tend to age and the needle will break / not work for long...&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I bought a MMC2 Shibata there and I am more than happy, delivered in no time (2 days in Germany) and really good sounding&lt;/p&gt;

A couple days ago I realized the cartridge needed to be replaced. Not knowing the price of a B &amp;amp; O cartridge for the make at the time of purchase I am stuck with having to pay $150 to $200 for a new cartridge. Is it possible to replace the cartridge with a compatible, and much cheaper unit?&lt;/p&gt;
